As a Category Assistant at Bargain Chemist, you will play a vital role in supporting the efficient and effective management of product categories within our retail pharmacy business.
What you will be doing:
- Support the Merch Manager with day-to-day category administration across ranged brands and SKUs
- Maintain item master data (new lines, delists, costs, RRPs, categorisation, images)
- Coordinate NPD submissions: gather supplier information, validate forms, track ins/outs, and support Merch Manager to prepare brand review packs
- Manage and chase supplier documentation (cost files, RRPs, promo plans, scan back confirmations, launch plans, images/POS assets)
- Liaise with suppliers on cost queries, invoice discrepancies, credits/returns, and ensure agreed terms are applied
- Maintain and update promo grid with any supplier changes (mailer, TPR or scan backs)
- Store Communications
- Support with range reviews: competitor checks, price benchmarking, store implementation and communication, ins and outs
- Keep supplier records organised: rate cards, promo confirmations, submissions, and key communications
What you bring to the role:
- Ability to follow process
- Attention to detail and ability to problem solve.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (intermediate to advanced skills).
- Previous experience working with or supporting category management teams is an advantage.
- Ability to work in a team and independently.
