We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Brand Manager to join our Christchurch team. This extraordinary candidate will take shared ownership of the Bargain Chemist brand and help lead the team through a critical phase of growth and transformation.
You will report directly into the Head of Marketing and work with cross-functional teams to drive market and category share targets, execute comprehensive brand strategies, and ensure the brand remains unique, relevant and impactful across the New Zealand market.
You will play a pivotal role in managing the brand’s positioning and market presence while collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders including wider marketing and agencies to ensure the brand’s continued success.
What you will be doing:
Support the Head of Marketing on the Bargain Chemist brand strategy, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive market share growth and brand visibility.
- Ownership of in-store execution and branding including new store roll-outs, POS, fixed assets and future opportunities.
- Execution of brand creative and campaigns.
- Work with agencies to optimise and deliver on media plans.
- Continuously assess and report on product offerings, recommending changes to improve product performance and meet supplier demands.
- Drive innovative activation strategies to maximize brand exposure, sales performance, and retailer partnerships.
- Work closely with internal teams (Digital, Category, Finance, Operations) and external stakeholders (agencies, suppliers) to ensure seamless execution of brand strategies and initiatives.
- Manage and develop a small team
What you bring to the role:
You have proven experience in brand marketing, preferably within FMCG Category and are able to demonstrate the following capabilities:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in brand management within FMCG or a similar consumer-driven industry.
- Proven track record of managing brand portfolios, with strong expertise creative development, in-store execution and brand strategy.
- Strategic thinker with a strong focus on results and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple initiatives and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership abilities, with experience working across diverse teams and mentoring junior colleagues.
- Solid business acumen, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail orientated with a creative mindset.
